Western Railways Direct Recruitment of Sports persons / Quota Group ‘C’ ‘D’ (28 Posts)
Last Date to Apply : 03-12-2012Applications are invited from eligible sports persons for the following sports disciplines for 12 Group ‘C’ posts and 16 Erstwhile Group ‘D’ posts on Western Railway as under :
A. Group C Posts :
No. of Posts : 12 (Athletics /Men – 03 Posts ; Athletics/Women – 03 Posts ; Basketball/Women – 01 Post ; Table Tennis
Men and Women – 03 Posts ; Gymnastics/Men – 02 Posts)
Pay Scale : 3 posts in PB-1 Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs. 2400/2800 and 9 posts in PB- 1 Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000/-
Qualification (For 3 Posts) : Graduate in any Discipline
Sports / Event Eligibility (for 3 Posts) : Represented the Country in Olympic Games OR Represented the Country in the World Cup (Junior/ Senior)/ World Championships (Junior/Senior)/ Asian Games (Senior) / Commonwealth Games (Senior) and obtained at least 3rd position.
Qualification (for 09 Posts) : SSC / Matriculate
Sports Eligibility : Represented Country /Country State / University
B. Group D Posts :
No. of Posts : 16 (Athletics/Men – 04 Posts ; Athletics/Women – 02 Posts ; Table Tennis Men and Women – 01 Post ; Ball Badminton/Men – 03 Posts ; Football/Men – 03 Posts ; Kho-Kho/Men – 03 Posts)
Pay Scale : PB-1 Rs. 5200-20200 Grade Pay 1800/-
Qualification : SSC / Matriculate
Sports Eligibility : (A) Represented the country in the Commonwealth Championship (Junior/Senior)/ Asian Championship / Asia Cup(Junior/Senior)/South Asian Federation (SAF) Games (Senior)/ USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior) OR (B) Represented a State or equivalent Unit in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category) and at least obtained 3rd position. OR (C) Represented a State or equivalent unit in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships OR (D) Represented a Unit or District of the State in the Senior State Championship and obtained at least 3rd Position.
Age Limit (For all the above Posts) : Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01/01/2013.
Important : Only those sports persons who have acquired the sports achievement eligibility norms in the Championship on or after 01/04/2010 and are active will be eligible to apply for appointment against Sports Quota. For validity of sports achievement, concluding day of the championship/event shall be taken into account.
Examination Fee : Indian Postal Order for Rs. 60/- for Group ‘C’ post in PB-1 Rs.5200-20200+2400 /2800 (GP) and Rs. 40/- in PB-1 Rs. 520020200+1800/1900/2000(GP). Postal Order should be drawn in favour of Western Railway Sports Association, Mumbai.
Exemption from Examination Fees : SC/ST, Women, Minorities (Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zorastrians {Parsis}) and economically backward classes candidates are exempted from examination fee. Economically backward classes mean the candidates whose family income is less than Rs. 50000/- per annum.
Selection Procedure : All eligible candidates will be called for Trial. Only such candidates who are found FIT by the Trial Committee will be called for Interview. Candidates declared NOT FIT by the Trial Committee will not be assessed further by the Recruitment Committee.
How to Apply : Candidates are required to apply in the prescribed format. The application complete in all respects with necessary enclosures should be sent by Ordinary Post to Sr. Sports Officer, Western Railway Sports Association, Headquarter Office, Churchgate, Mumbai-400 020. On the top of the envelope “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2012-13” should be superscribed.
